“ Cafe/shop area was nice, the bar and restaurant area looked nice but cannot comment on food or drink. Staff were lovely. Drinks and foods seemed a bit expensive but great location with access to lots of walking spots, with loads of parking ”
“ We tent camped here one night while hiking the coast to coast. The tent sites were very cozy and clean with so much character. There was a fresh water supply by our site. The bathrooms were clean, however only 1 of the 3 showers worked. Dinner at the restaurant was very good with a friendly staff and great drink menu. The only issue I had was there was a large family staying at one of the cabins by the tent sites and they were very loud going into late night around midnight. Their son had a tent set up by ours and was partaking in smoking and illegal narcotics thru the evening. This made the next day of hiking very difficult since we did not get enough sleep the night before. I do not blame Lord Stones for this, it was just a luck of the draw we ended up with very inconsiderate family camping next to us. ”
“ Fantastic place for a walk/hike up the Cleveland way to Lordstones. It's a 20 minute hike up the steep incline to the top but you are rewarded with fantastic views over the Tees valley. Take some time at the top where the monument and stone bench is to catch your breath and drink in the wonderful views then take the path behind the stone bench and follow along the ridge to the steep winding steps down and along the track back to the cafe for a drink and some food. This takes about 1 hour 20 minutes. The cafe produces some lovely food. The portion of chips and cheese I had was enormous I couldn't eat all of them. The staff are very helpful and friendly. ”
